Eye strain is anything that can cause your eyes stress, such as squinting to see, squinting because of glare, looking at digital devices for too long. If you have eye strain, it can lead to stress on your eyes and it can eventually begin to wear out your vision. Eye strain can be prevented by taking better care of your eyes and your vision and by being mindful of what you are doing in your day-to-day routines. Wear Sunglasses

If you wear sunglasses out in the sun, it can prevent you from having to squint due to the glare of the sunlight. Glare can affect your eyes while you're driving, when you are just walking outside, or even while enjoying a day in the sun. Wearing sunglasses can protect your eyes from strain and from the harmful rays that the sun gives off. If you don't have sunglasses that are protective enough, make sure you invest in sunglasses that say they protect against these harmful rays.

Limit Digital Usage

Limit your digital usage to help protect your eyes and your vision. If you work on a computer all day, take a break at night from the computer or from your cell phone or tablet in order to give your eyes a break. staying on these devices for too long can cause harm to your eyes and to your vision. Your eyes may feel dried out, they may feel like they hurt, you may have a difficult time relaxing your eyes at night, and it could eventually wear on your eyes.

Don't Squint To See

If you are squinting in order to see properly, it is a vision issue. You need to either update your prescription or you need to get to the optometrist to have your eyes tested. If you haven't had your eyes tested in a while, you may need to have your vision checked. Squinting can lead to eye strain and it can harm or worsen your vision. Make sure you are wearing your corrective lenses as required.

If you have eye strain issues, such as you have headaches daily, your eyes feel tired, or your eyes are sore at the end of the day, you should get to the optometrist right away for an eye exam and for proper treatment.
