If you're experiencing headaches or migraines more often, it may be due to your vision or your vision worsening. If your eyes are strained each day doing daily activities, using tech devices, or from work, it can cause stress on your eyes and your body, resulting in these headaches. There are things you can do that may help prevent these migraines. Read on for a few things you can do.

Get Your Vision Checked

Have your vision checked often to prevent living with worsening vision that has gone undetected. You may be wearing an old prescription without knowing and this can cause your vision to worsen further, in addition to causing the eye strain and your migraine headaches. You're going to strain to see everyday things in front of you. Be sure to have your vision checked each year by going to the eye doctor for an eye exam.

Take Breaks From Devices

Make sure you are taking breaks often from tech devices. If you work on a computer, you'll need to look away from time to time to give your eyes a break. If you use a smartphone a lot throughout the day for social media or other things, you should take breaks from this device as well. If you're a gamer using a tablet, computer, or another device, you should take a break from these devices as well to give your eyes a break. Looking away from the screen can give your eyes time to refocus and allow your eyes to re-moisten, which can reduce eye strain caused by technology and can also reduce your chances of getting a migraine.

Adjust Lighting To Reduce Squinting

Reduce squinting from glare by wearing sunglasses when out in the sunlight, by adjusting your screen brightness or reducing the glare on your screen from a nearby window, as well as adjusting the lighting in your home. If you are squinting due to lighting, it can cause migraines to occur. If you are squinting because it's too dim, you should adjust lighting for this as well.

If you are getting migraines often, it may be because of your eyes and your vision. Make an appointment to have your eyes and your vision checked. Be sure to wear your corrective lenses as required to prevent further issues with migraines. Talk to someone at an eye care center about other vision concerns you may have and if you have further issues with migraines brought on by your vision.
